Who would like to keep seeing the ads all over the place? I don’t want to see any ads while am busy editing the pictures or switching the apps back and forth or opening new applications.

In Microsoft windows 10, ads are pushed automatically and it is bit annoying and I thought they will be fixing in the coming updates but no, they didn’t.
Microsoft is also planning to bombard the ads even in the coming Windows 10 creators update. Isn’t that annoying?

Do not panic, I am here to save you from those annoying pop-up ads. Here are the simple steps that you need to follow in order to get rid of those ads.
Let’s start!

1. Disable  tips, tricks, and suggestions

This is not what you think, You may think it is going to provide you some useful tips and suggestions but no, In reality, it is the main culprit which pushes unwanted Ads so we need to disable the tips, tricks, and suggestions.
In order to do this, Head over to Settings>Notifications & Actions, Here toggle off “Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows“.

2. Avoid Lock Screen Promotions

Lock Screen is the focused area where you see ads most of the time and PC enters this screen much often when your PC is idle for a specific time.
To Disable the ads in Lockscreen, Go to Settings>Personalization>Lockscreen. Here Make sure “Windows Spotlight” is NOT selected. If it is selected, then click on the drop-down and select Picture or Slide view and toggle off “Get fun facts, tips, and more from Windows and Cortana on your lock screen“. This will take care of the issue.

3. Uninstall Get Office Application

Get Office is really annoying. Even if you have the Office applications installed, Get office will pop up more frequently. The only thing I suggest is, just UNINSTALL it.
In your App section, Go to the “G” list and look for “Get Office“. Right click on it and uninstall.

4. Uninstall pre-installed Solitaire and Minesweeper Game

This step is especially for those who play Solitare and Minesweeper on their PC.
Solitare and Minesweeper are the two free games which are included in Windows OS for about 10 years but now they have made it a paid applications.
If you still want to play those games then you need to tolerate the banner ads and sometimes a 30-second video ad.
Our Main concern is to have an ad-free Operating system, So my suggestion is to completely uninstall both these games.

Workaround: – Play these games online without any ads from www.playsolitaire.org and www.freeminesweeper.org

5. Clean Start Menu

Microsoft is trying to promote their own Windows Store apps in the start menu based on your search preferences. This, in turn, clogs some space which we do not like.

Now, we need to remove the suggestions from the start screen.
To do this, Go to Settings>Personalization>Start, Here toggle off “Occasionally show suggestions in Start“.
Additionally, If you would like to have a cleaner look, then remove the unwanted metro apps by right clicking on them and “Unpin from Start ” and resize all the metro apps to one size!

6. Uninstall Bloatware

Microsoft is including a bunch of preinstalled apps and most of them are of no use. Go to Settings>Apps>Apps and features> Select the unwanted apps and click on uninstall.

7. Remove ads showing in File Explorer

Last but not least, If you see any ads or promotional offers in file explorer, Then Open File explorer and go to View, Options. Click the View tab and locate ‘Show sync provider notifications’. Untick this, then click Apply and OK.

We all Love Microsoft Windows OS because of their user-friendly interface but recently they started pushing some unwanted advertisements, As a result, Many customers started complaining about it. The above mentioned simple steps will help you in getting rid of those ads and can have a cleaner user interface.
