In this dynamic world, Everyone likes to get their job done quickly and spend more time with their family.
We are already having millions of applications that make our life easier and every day tons of applications are booming. But wait, what if we automate them?
Yes, IFTTT allows you to automate the tasks by connecting multiple services and you do not need to intervene.

If This Then That(IFTTT) is a platform which allows us to create an applet using 2 applications to achieve multiple tasks automatically.
The Good thing is that there are several users who have already created awesome applets and are published and we can use them as well.
There are about 400 apps and they are adding dozens of apps every day and the count is increasing exponentially.

Is this necessary?
Yes, It is absolutely necessary as we are using dozens of applications every day.
I save up to 60 minutes of my time every day using IFTTT applets by connecting multiple services.
You can save even more depending on the tasks and number of applets you have created.

In this article, I will show you how to create an applet and make multiple applications work together.
For demonstration purpose am taking Gmail and Evernote. Once done, I will list all the applets am using that saves me about 60 minutes of my time.
Let’s get started!

Step 1: – IFTTT Registration

Create an account with IFTT from their official website or from an Android or an apple smartphone.
This is the best part of IFTTT as it supports multiple platforms.

IFTTT

Step 2: – Creating an Applet

Log into IFTTT, Towards the right top, you will see your username, click on it and select “New Applet”.

IFTTT

Click on the + icon after “if”, here we need to select the first application/service. In this case, it is Gmail.

IFTTT

Step 3: – Choosing a Trigger

A trigger is nothing but the command or the function which you want to designate from the selected app.
You are allowed to choose from various triggers as per your need.

IFTTT

Step 4: – Choosing the second service

Here you need to select the second application that you want the first one to communicate with. In this case, I am selecting Evernote application. To do this click on the + icon which is in front of “then” and then select the app which you need.

Step 5: – Choosing an Action

We are at the final stage. Now we should choose an action that needs to be performed. Again, every application provides numerous action to select from.

IFTTT

Step 6: – Finalizing the things

After selecting an action, click on “Create Action” and then “Finish“. Finally, Make sure the applet is turned ON.

That is it, I have successfully created an applet using Gmail and Evernote. Now what it does is really cool! Whenever I get an email with any attachments, those attachments will be automatically stored in a new Note in Evernote application.

NOTE: – The above procedure remains same for both android or iOS users. I have attached the images for mobile users below.

Finally, you got to know how to create a new applet using two applications. You do not need to do this every time, As I mentioned before you can select any of the applets that are already been created by users and use them.
Now I will list all the active applets used by me which saves about 60 min of my time every day!

IFTTT applet

This one is my Personal favorite. Log in to an email account, look for attachments, download them and then upload them to Evernote and save it in a note. Ufff… Isn’t that a time-consuming process? This applet saves a lot of time.

It is always a nice habit to have a list of events that is been saved in Google calendar to quickly go through them instead of scrolling through the calendar.

IFTTT applet

Inoreader is my favorite content reader as it is clean and user-friendly. Out of many news articles, i will star few of the most important articles. This applet will send those articles to Evernote and this will allow me to research about it and create contents directly from Evernote!

As a blogger, i need to do many things to publish my posts and especially to social sites. This is a time-consuming process as well but IFTTT allows me to automate most of the tasks as there are many WordPress applets. These are some of them.

Saving receipts to Evernote is very much essential than keeping the physical copies. It is not only Eco-friendly but also easy to search with Evernote’s powerful search option.

Are you avoiding backing up your photos just because it is a time-consuming process? Then this is the applet you need. Any photos which are saved in your smartphone is automatically backed up to your BOX cloud storage.

These were the active applets that are running currently on my smartphone that saves me about One hour of time. Am also exploring new applets every day and will share once I find them useful.

Give a try and don’t forget to comment below the list of applets you have tried.
